Warranty Process for Aerial Lifts in Extended Storage

Warranty claims can be submitted for Snorkel lifts held in stock or storage for greater than 30 days. Machines must have been manufactured within the past 24 months, and a PDIR must be turned in upon receipt of the unit, stating the machine is stock or in service.

If the unit has been in storage for more than 30 days, the following criteria must be met:

  • A completed function log for each stock unit
  • Exposed cylinder rods must have protection (white lithium grease) added between function cycles.
  • Batteries must be charged and properly maintained.
    • Store in cool dry locations
    • Prevent from freezing
    • Batteries will self-discharge 5-15% per month, depending on ambient temperature. Batteries need to be fully charged every 60 to 90 days.
    • Check and add water after fully charged cycle. Use only distilled water.
      • If batteries are discharged: Only add water if the top of the plates are exposed. If so, add only enough water to just cover the exposed plates.

Any faults related to improper storage or lack of required operations, including extreme environmental conditions, will be repaired or replaced at the cost of the storage site. Examples include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leaking cylinders
  • Weather checked tires
    • Cracked
    • Peeling
    • Flat spots
  • Peeling decals
  • Faded paint
  • Rusted cylinder pins or hardware
  • Corroded electrical components

If any of these actions are not performed, the warranty claim may be declined. Appeals may be submitted within 30 days of receipt of a declined warranty claim to the Warranty Administrator/Service Manager at the appropriate manufacturing site of supply.
